North American life insurance and reinsurance provider Wilton Re has completed a major Cloud transformation with DXC Technology, consolidating more than 400,000 policies onto a unified platform to simplify operations, accelerate future acquisitions and establish a foundation for Artificial Intelligence.
Wilton Re has completed a major technology modernisation programme with DXC Technology, migrating more than 400,000 life insurance policies from legacy systems onto a unified Cloud-based administration platform.
The transformation represents one of the largest and most complex projects undertaken during the companies’ 20-year partnership and is designed to support Wilton Re’s continued expansion through acquisitions.
Wilton Re provides in-force and reinsurance solutions to the North American life insurance industry, helping insurers manage legacy portfolios while releasing capital and resources for strategic growth.
Since beginning its relationship with DXC, the company has expanded its portfolio from approximately 5,000 policies to more than 500,000.
However, acquiring insurance portfolios presents significant technology challenges, with individual businesses often operating different administration systems, data structures and processes.
Many acquired policies also rely on ageing technology that must continue supporting customers for decades.
To address these challenges, Wilton Re and DXC developed a repeatable approach to integrating acquired portfolios into a common operating environment, reducing the need to establish separate systems and processes for each transaction.
The latest transformation involved migrating more than 400,000 policies from previous DXC technologies onto DXC Wealth Management Accelerator (wmA), a Cloud-based policy administration platform.
Completed in 2026, the programme consolidated previously separate administration environments while maintaining continuity of service for policyholders and insurance agents.
The new platform provides a consistent operating environment across acquired portfolios, improving access to data and standardising administrative processes.
It also enables Wilton Re to integrate future acquisitions more efficiently, reducing operational complexity and supporting more predictable administration costs.
Enrico Treglia, Former Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Wilton Re, said: “From day one of Wilton Re, we made the decision that we were going to outsource everything that wasn’t a core competency for us, and given our past relationship and success with DXC, it was a no brainer to start with them. And they are a premier partner and preferred partner in every transaction that we do.”
DXC supports Wilton Re across several business functions, including policy administration, customer service, claims processing, financial operations, compliance and technology management.
This arrangement allows Wilton Re to concentrate on its core insurance and reinsurance activities while drawing on DXC’s technology infrastructure and operational expertise.
The migration also establishes a foundation for further Digital Transformation initiatives, including greater automation, digital self-service capabilities and AI-enabled workflows.
Cloud connectivity and application programming interfaces will allow these capabilities to be introduced without requiring another major replacement of the company’s core administration systems.
According to DXC, the consolidated environment is expected to help Wilton Re integrate newly acquired portfolios more quickly while maintaining consistent service standards.
The transformation also provides a more scalable technology foundation as the company continues expanding its insurance portfolio.
The project illustrates how modernising legacy infrastructure can help insurance organisations address operational complexity while preparing their businesses for future technology developments.
